A regional museum of history and art. Explore Adirondack history in 22 indoor and outdoor exhibit spaces. New exhibit in 2010: Let’s Eat! Adirondack Food Traditions.

Special exhibits returning for a second year: Common Threads: 150 Years of Adirondack Quilts and Comforters and A “Wild, Unsettled Country”: Early Reflections of the Adirondacks.

National Historic Landmark, Vintage Vanderbilt Camp. The 2 hour guided tour of 27 buildings includes the caretaker's village, the famous Main Lodge and the bowling alley. 10:00 and 1:30 daily in summer, 1:30 in fall. Permanent exhibit and virtual tour for those who do not have a full two hours to spend. Admission is charged. Excellent gift shop. It is also possible to stay in our authentic buildings.
