Cascade Pond is a lovely pond set way back in the woods. Peaceful camping and good fishing await.
Getting there
From the intersection of Route 28 and Route 30 in Blue Mountain Lake follow Route 28/30 toward Indian Lake. Continue for just under 1-mile to where CR 19 comes in sharply on your right and follow here. Go down CR19 for about 0.25 miles to a dirt road on the left with a sign for Cascade Pond. Drive down this road for about 0.1 miles to the trailhead on the right.
Fishing
This is truly the only obvious option as to carry a boat for 2.6 miles would be very difficult. Car-top boat access only with no motors, would require a demanding 2.6 mile carry.
Fish Species Types: Brook Trout, Bullhead
Special Regulations: Always follow State fishing regulations and be sure to pick up a NYS Freshwater Fishing Guide at your local outfitters or regional NYSDEC office.
Camping
There is a lean-to on the north shore which has great access to the pond. Most of the pond is rather shallow but paths do lead to the deeper portion of the lake on the west side.
