With a total solar eclipse set to grace the skies, communities such as Inlet, Long Lake, Speculator, and Indian Lake are gearing up for an unforgettable experience.
Before we get to the details, let's start with some important tips:
- Make a plan in advance and decide on your preferred viewing location.
- Have a backup plan, in case traffic is heavy or parking is full.
- Bring eclipse glasses for safe viewing. Limited quantities will be available at community information centers while supplies last, but plan ahead, just to be safe.
- Utilize public restrooms available at designated locations.
- Respect the environment and refrain from littering; carry out what you bring in.
- Fuel up in advance, and have plenty of water, extra blankets, and snacks for the road trip.
- Be kind and have a wonderful experience!

Indian Lake & Blue Mountain Lake, New York

Inlet, New York

- Please note that most of these locations are near lakes. They may be covered in ice in April but will likely not be frozen enough to support you. Stay on solid ground and don't walk on the ice, no matter how safe it looks.
