Inlet is home to the Moose River Recreation Area, (click here for a map) a 50,000-acre primitive camping area with more than 100 camping sites accessed by a network of seasonal roads. Each site has a firepit, a picnic table, and an outhouse, and several sites are wheelchair accessible. Camping here is free, and no reservations can be made for these first-come, first-served, carry-in, carry-out sites. Other primitive, free camping sites can be found around Moss Lake.
New York state campgrounds in Inlet all have accessible tent and RV sites and dumping stations. Brown Tract Pond Campground is tucked away in seclusion a short distance from town.
